The Secret Man - Prologue
A million secrets hide within their knotted muscles, itching for someone able enough to draw them to the surface. Each one squirms when it feels so near to being revealed, but it never does get to see the light of day. And so their million secrets are left to live in the darkest corners of their beings, sour and becoming impatient. Some are forgotten completely, others simmer in the loneliness, growing heavier and heavier to burden their aching bodies.
This is where I come into their lives. A mere masseur trained to please the general public, I watch from the corner of the counter as they approach, their mangled knees scraping the floor whil
All the stars fall from the skies
As the year rests its weary eyes.
Something has gone painfully awry,
But no one can answer as to why.
Days and weeks and months just die,
Going, going, on a mournful sigh.
And all the stars fall from the skies,
Allowing for the new ones to rise.

Dying Is Only Half The Pain
When you came down from heaven
To grace this unworthy planet,
I knew there would be a hefty price
And that I'd be the one to pay it.
Yet we still fell in the deepest love,
You made everything all right;
No matter the situation, you were there,
Giving me that beautiful light.
But you never told me it'd end this way-
The night you go will never ever turn to day.
I've already lost in this life,
Lost a little bit too much.
Now you're telling me you're next,
Wasn't our love enough?
Baby, please, stay with me,
I vow to mend it all.
And when you become unsteady,
I won't dare to let you fall.
I know you can't help being like this,
What if I were to disappear?
Would you stay safe right here
Or go where your heart takes you?
Baby, I cannot stand this fear.
What exactly will you do?
Would you search for a clue
Pointing you to where I may be?
Baby, I do not want to lose.
What if you never find me?
Would you fall to your knees
And pray for some extra hope?
Baby, just keep that belief.
What lengths will you go?
Would you search high and low
Or even trek through Irish snow?
Baby, I really must know.
I really must know.
Maybe it's the fact you're going away
To visit your Scottish family on this holiday.
Maybe it's the fact I wish I were there,
To curl up in your arms and play with your hair.
So this is what I might do,
'Cos I can't stop missing you:
I'll sell everything I own just to catch that train-
Or perhaps I'll fare better on an aeroplane?
Whatever it takes, I'll find my way to your side,
Before this loneliness shatters me inside.
Maybe I should leave this old train station,
But I don't want to end up in some altercation.
Maybe I should just sit here and pray you come,
But I don't want to be here till the day is far done.
So this is what

All He Wants For Christmas
Moonlight rides upon the river
That cuts through the jagged cityscape.
A young man watches over this scene
From his outlook on the Winking Eye Bridge.
And he wishes to be back home,
Away from the cars roaring in the distance,
Away from the smog crawling into his lungs,
Away from the tainted snowflakes falling from above.
All he really wants for Christmas
Is to walk through the Tyneside hills
With the love of his life by his side.
It's a pity it hasn't been found
Standing tall in the centre of town.
But it still waits for the day
When the children come out to play;
When there's a blanket of snow
To let the whole world know
That Christmas is gonna be around.
Then someone sings, "Hey, Christmas Tree,
Aren't you feeling a bit lonely?
Don't worry, my poor dear,
I'm finally here,
Gonna sing it loud,
Gotta sing it proud,
And let us together involve the entire crowd."
The holidays are soon to arrive
And they are just barely on time.
Masses gather in the night
To watch all the pretty lights
Flicker to life in the town square
With everybody standing there,
C
Doors topped with buckets of water,
Oranges replaced with plastic replicas,
Undercrackers coated with itching powder,
Bells tied beneath all the couples' beds,
Lines crossed at every entrance point-
Energy spent on avoiding them is energy gone to waste.
They are the Double Trouble,
Raising their brain children
Only to cause some massive damage.
Upsets reign throughout the village,
But when worst comes to worst,
Lex and Drew cannot be too far away,
Every disaster might just be their very own curse.
How do you survive a broken heart
Without sounding like a loveless fool?
How do you endure being torn apart
Without breaking down into desperate tears?
Being like this hurts me so,
But I have really got to know,
This much is what you owe.
Tell me now, lady, just give me a hint,
I can't stand to be like this too much longer.
Tell me now, lady, or just walk away,
I promise you I'll emerge so much stronger.
One word is all I need,
So tell me now, lady, please.
How do you live life knowing you're down
Without having your head hang so low?
How do you continue to strut around the town
Without letting on what you've been through?
